Superintendent Superstar July 2026

After graduating from Kingsburg High School in 2023, Alisha enrolled in the Adult Transition Program. Recently, she received the “I Believe in You Award and Scholarship!” The award was presented by Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michele Cantwell-Copher, before a room full of fellow students, families, and her teachers, to recognize Alisha’s acceptance to UC Davis Redwood’s SEEDS program, a unique four-year inclusive college program for 12 recipients designed specifically for California students with intellectual disabilities. Alisha was chosen from more than 80 applicants!

During her time at Kingsburg High School, Alisha has been deeply involved in the school community, notably as a member of the Women’s Assembly and a dedicated cheerleader. Alisha cheered at every single home and away game, attended cheer camp, and regularly flew high as a flyer.

Through the Adult Transition Program, she has dedicated her time to volunteering across our local community, including work at the Fresno Animal Center, Corsaro’s Pizza, K-CAPS thrift store, Grocery Outlet and Ace Hardware. In addition to her volunteer work, Alisha has taken a major step in her academic journey by enrolling in classes at Reedley Junior College.

Alisha is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities, driven by her understanding that not everyone is afforded the same opportunities. She has already taken incredible strides toward this goal by traveling to Sacramento three times for Advocacy Day with the Fresno County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). Inspired by watching her role models, our very own Trina Frazier, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, and Romy Chachere, Director of Student Services, in action at the state capitol, Alisha’s ultimate goal is to work side by side with them in the future. She hopes to bring that same level of advocacy back to our local community to create lasting, positive change.
