NIC Literacy
Helping every child read at grade level by third grade is the goal of educators across Fresno County. In this episode of Education Matters, we take an inside look at the Early Matters Fresno Literacy Network Improvement Community (NIC), an innovative partnership led by the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools and the Fresno Cradle to Career initiative that is transforming early literacy instruction through collaboration, coaching, and continuous improvement.
Summer Learning
Discover fun and educational summer learning opportunities for kids and families across Fresno County in this episode of Education Matters. We visit the Sunflower Farm Stand in Sanger, where visitors can learn about local agriculture, pick their own flowers, and explore unique varieties of locally grown fruit. Then, we head to the San Joaquin Fish Hatchery in Friant, where students can experience the life cycle of rainbow trout, feed the fish, and learn about California's wildlife and conservation efforts.
The Changing Job Market - Part 2
Discover how Career Technical Education (CTE) is helping students prepare for the changing job market in Part 2 of our three-part Education Matters series. We visit CTEC High School in Fresno County, where students are earning college credits, gaining hands-on experience, completing internships, and building connections with industry leaders before they graduate.
