October 2025 Employee of the Month

We honor William Wilkerson, Extended Support Needs/SDC Teacher in Special Education-Integrated Sites as the Employee of the Month for October 2025.

William has provided quality education for students with special needs for the past 25 years. He ensures students are successful by implementing high standards and expectations regardless of their individual needs. He creates customized educational materials to stimulate student learning in an effective way to fit the student's needs and levels of achievement. William builds rapport with parents through daily emails, books, pictures, videos, and personal calls regarding their child. 

William also utilizes community resources to enhance the knowledge of services available within the community. He connects through community worksites and volunteering opportunities, such as the Salvation Army bell ringing every year. He builds community connections by establishing positive outreach to provide successful experiences for students, preparing them for the future beyond school. 

For more than 10 years, William has mentored first-year teachers. He participates in peer assistance coaching and the induction program, providing feedback, support and insight to any teacher in need. In addition to his normal duties, William has taken an extra step to become a Special Olympics event coordinator, hosting sporting events through the school year by providing all students with the ability to participate within their own ability.
