August 2025 Employee of the Month

We honor Chris Borges, Executive Director of Special Education in Student Services, as the Employee of the Month for August 2025.

Chris’ profound knowledge of special education is impressive. She consistently demonstrates a deep understanding of diverse student needs and effective strategies that support their growth and success. This experience not only enriches her team, but significantly enhances the learning experiences for their students.

Chris implemented Teach Town in all their classrooms, approaching the change with sensitivity by putting together a work group to assist with this task and sought feedback from teachers who implement the curriculum. In setting a goal to visit every classroom this past school year, Chris exhibited remarkable commitment and initiative. Not only did she achieve this goal, but she went even further by visiting many classrooms multiple times, fostering strong relationships with students and staff. In addition, her forward-thinking approach ensures that she anticipates challenges and proactively seeks solutions that benefit the entire division. 

Thoughtfulness is a hallmark of Chris’ work ethic. She consistently puts the well-being of students and colleagues at the forefront, creating an environment where everyone feels supported and valued. Even in difficult situations, she maintains a high level of professionalism, handling challenges with grace, patience and sound judgement.

Chris, your excellent sense of humor lightens all situations and strengthens team morale. You are compassionate, warm, positive and dedicated – thank you for all you do to uplift Team FCSS!
