July 2025 Employee of the Month

We honor Salina Guzman, Transportation Scheduler in Student Services, as the Employee of the Month for July 2025.

Salina began her career at FCSS as a Program Assistant in our Special Education county-operated programs. For the past five years, she has held her current position, consistently demonstrating her exceptional value. Salina goes above and beyond in intentional and thoughtful ways. Many of the projects assigned to her are novel, but she has an excellent ability to complete them independently and efficiently. 

In addition to creating and maintaining the daily transportation routes for the students in our county-operated programs, Salina also successfully coordinates the ingress and egress of more than 100 buses each year for Kids Day, the transportation for school outings and ensures that all students in wheelchairs have access. She also monitors the location, movement and maintenance of our van fleet. During the foggy season, she rises before sunrise to check conditions and communicate with staff and parents about delayed transportation routes. 

As the sole Transportation Scheduler for our organization, she has worked diligently to reduce our costs for districts by consolidating routes whenever possible. She has also held our transportation vendor accountable for services, resulting in savings of up to $131,000 for the districts in one year. 

Salina, your keen ability to think through difficult situations and device solutions is invaluable. Your excellent work ethic and positivity have enabled you to build meaningful relationships with coworkers. Thank you for being so dedicated!
