Social Media Guidelines
The Fresno County Superintendent of Schools is committed to fostering a respectful, engaging, and productive space for communication and collaboration on our official social media platforms. By posting a link to this page on each official social media account of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, these guidelines are fully incorporated into each page/account. By interacting with our social media pages, you agree to use the applicable social media account for its intended purposes, and to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all users:
Purpose of the Platform
Our social media platforms are designed to:
- Share accurate and timely information about Fresno County Superintendent of Schools’ programs, services, events, and initiatives.
- Encourage community involvement and collaboration.
- Provide a forum for constructive communication between the agency, students, parents/guardians, staff, and the community.
Content Guidelines
We welcome user comments and engagement but request that contributions align with the following standards, in addition to avoiding inappropriate content (as defined, below):
- Respectful Communication: Users should communicate in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner.
- Relevance: Comments and posts should be directly related to the content, purpose, or discussion topic of the platform.
- Copyright and Privacy: Users should respect copyright laws and avoid sharing confidential information, including personal details of students, employees, or other individuals.
Inappropriate Content
The following types of content are considered inappropriate and will be removed:
- Interactions that are obscene, libelous, or so incite students as to create a clear and present danger of the commission of unlawful acts on school premises, violation of school rules, or substantial disruption of the school’s orderly operation.
- Interactions that are not related to the stated purpose of the account, including, but not limited to, threats, comments of a commercial nature, political activity, and comments prohibited by County Superintendent and County Board policies and County Superintendent administrative regulations.
Monitoring and Moderation
Our social media pages are regularly monitored by the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools to ensure compliance with these guidelines:
- Posts that violate the guidelines may be removed based on viewpoint-neutral considerations.
- Repeated violations may result in restricted access to our social media platforms.

- Personal Responsibility: Users are solely responsible for the content they post. The Fresno County Superintendent of Schools and the Fresno County Board of Education are not liable for user-generated content, or for how users interact with the account.
- Views and Opinions: Comments and views expressed by users do not necessarily reflect the official positions of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools or the Fresno County Board of Education.
- Endorsements: References to specific products, services, or entities do not imply endorsement or recommendation by the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools or the Fresno County Board of Education.
Privacy and Public Records
- All content shared on our platforms may be considered public record and be subject to disclosure under applicable laws.
- Users should avoid sharing private or sensitive information, including personal contact details.
Reporting Issues
If you observe content that violates these guidelines, please contact socialmedia@fcoe.org. We will review and address the matter promptly. As appropriate, violations may be reported to third parties, including law enforcement.
