FCSS Student Programs

Student leadership and college readiness take center stage in this Education Matters report from Fresno County. Meet Central High West student body president Karai Paige, who says her involvement with the Fresno County Youth Advisory Board helped her find her voice, build leadership skills, and become a confident public speaker.

The Youth Advisory Board brings together student leaders from across Fresno County to work directly with administrators and county leaders on issues impacting their schools and communities. Students collaborate on real solutions designed to improve student outcomes and ensure youth perspectives are heard.

This story also highlights the LEAD Pathway, a college readiness program designed to guide high school students toward higher education. In partnership with Fresno State and the Bulldog Bound program, LEAD Pathway helps students meet A–G requirements, explore college majors, and build a clear plan for life after graduation.

From leadership development to college access, Fresno County Superintendent of Schools programs are empowering students to lead, learn, and succeed.
