Employee of the Month: Dhaliwal provides exceptional customer service

It is with pleasure that we honor Manraj Dhaliwal, Administrative Assistant in Educational Leadership & Development, as the April 2022 Employee of the Month.

Manraj has been in his current position since December 2021 and is a valuable addition to the Educational Leadership & Development team. He has stepped into the role of being the division representative to CORE, the FCSS administrative leadership group, with ease and has already garnered the respect of his peers. Manraj has also quickly acclimated to his job duties and is providing essential support to various departments. He is in demand to provide his expertise to many FCSS projects, programs and activities, such as the African American Student Leadership Conference virtual event and the Health Services open house of their new facility.

Prior to his new role, Manraj joined FCSS in April 2016 as the Program Assistant for Early Care & Education. He was able to plan and anticipate the needs of many department projects, specifically the Early Stars program. Parents, children and the community held him in high regard for his professionalism and kind demeanor. While at the Lighthouse for Children, Manraj managed and oversaw the process of over 80 contracts per year, developed OMS registrations and managed over 50 professional trainings for more than 2,500 early care and education professionals. While working from home during the pandemic, Manraj took the initiative to develop multiple shared Google forms that allowed the team to stay connected, as well as contributed to the creation of online training protocols and procedures.

In both positions, Manraj has shined with his ability to troubleshoot through any issue, create documents, process agreements and provide exceptional customer services while remaining calm, courteous and task oriented.

“This award shows the appreciation that my fellow colleagues have for me, and it feels great,” said Manraj. “This moment allowed me to reflect and give myself a pat-on-the back for the hard work and positivity I display. I felt a sense of validation on how I move forward in life. I will keep growing by showing empathy, learning though vulnerability, and appreciating life.”
