University High Academic Decathlon Team Scores Impressive Wins!

Congratulations to the Academic Decathlon teams from University High School (coached by Sean Canfield) and Edison High School (coached by Gary Mrkaich), who took 6th and 7th place, respectively, out of 65 teams at the California Academic Decathlon competition on March 18, 2012.

We are proud to announce that University also won the small school division title for the sixth year in a row. The team will now compete for the national title in the hopes of a 6th straight victory as they are the undefeated Small School National Champions. In addition to this victory, University teammate Tim Anderson posted the second highest score in the competition earning 9,140 points out of the 10,000 possible – just 50 points shy of the number one slot.
