Olmos honored as November Employee of the Month

It is with pleasure that we honor Dora Olmos, Administrative Assistant in the Human Resources Division, as the November 2019 Employee of the Month.

Dora is a one-of-a-kind sometimes goofy and always positive and fun-loving person. She’ll do anything to brighten her colleagues’ day from crowing like a rooster first thing in the morning or doing a little dance around the office. Dora is helpful, kind and caring with everyone.

Dora began working for the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools on July 1, 2008 as a Program Secretary in the Pupil Personnel Services department. Seven years later she was promoted to her current position, working in support of the Human Resources Division. As the Administrative Assistant in Credentials, Dora hits the ground running every day.

Dora is incredible helping with complex tasks such as supporting the Credentials Technicians when they are busy by taking calls and greeting walk-in educators. With skill and creativity, Dora gets her job done. She knows exactly what items need to be purchased for the department to keep it running smoothly and effectively.

And talk about an event planner! Dora always steps up to help with events in her quick and efficient style, making sure every detail runs smoothly. Dora is also an amazing asset to the Teacher Induction department. She thinks ahead and is willing to help with anything needed, which keeps the Teacher Induction team and department organized.

No matter what time of year or amount of work at her desk, Dora displays a sense of calm and composure. Her genuine smile is always present and appreciated by everyone she interacts with. Dora never fails to come to work in an upbeat, positive and welcoming mood.

Dora also loves and cares about her family. They describe Dora the same way, as someone who puts their needs before her own. Dora and her husband, Morris, have been happily married for 34 years and have three children and one grandson.

“I try to connect what I’m doing and put myself in the shoes of others,” said Dora. “That comes from my faith. I wake up grateful and try to do God’s will every day.”
