June Superintendent’s Superstar shines

Isabelle Gonzales just completed her junior year at Parlier High School. She was actively involved in school clubs and sports, including serving as junior class president, member of the iLead, Ivy League and treasurer of the Interact club. She has also played on the varsity softball team for three years and plays competitive travel softball year-round. She has a 4.2 GPA.

Isabelle’s dedication to compassion and services started five years ago. While participating in a softball tournament, her softball bag was stolen. Fortunately, she received a $1,300 donation to replace it with a poignant request from the donor to pay it forward. Since then, Isabelle has been dedicated to doing good deeds for others.

She founded the Christmas Wish Project for Transitions Children’s Services, a foster youth agency, where she collects holiday gifts for children. She also led the Back to School Backpack Project and donated 155 backpacks filled with school supplies to foster children. At the age of 15, the City of Parlier honored Isabelle with the Key to the City for her community service.

The Military Banner Program is her most recent project. She coordinated the sponsorship and creation of 26 banners to honor veterans that are displayed from Memorial Day through Veteran’s Day in downtown Parlier. She has already received 30 applications for next year.
