She fulfills her duties and tasks with grace and skill. Compliments often pour in from other staff members and departments regarding Monte Vista’s timely and accurate submission of payroll timesheets, student attendance, accounts payable and many other areas. The department has implemented several of Amor’s tracking and processing systems as models for staff training. Amor’s love for the students is what feeds her spirit and success. She always makes it a priority to be warm and welcoming to everyone that passes through the office at Monte Vista, including students, parents and colleagues.

Greg Barragan: Teacher of the Year

Greg Barragan is a Career Technical Education Instructor at the Alice M. Worsley School at the Juvenile Justice Campus. Greg’s students, incarcerated youth, respect him and his mission to help them develop job-ready skills as certified welders. Greg, or Mr. B as his students call him, treats them like they are his own children. He is an incredible welding instructor and has placed more than 50 students in jobs after being released from the facility. Greg also teaches students important life skills necessary for success. On any given day upon visiting his classroom, there is both evidence of student knowledge of how to weld and also how to keep a job. He cultivates industry relationships to assist his students with interview preparation.
