April Superintendent’s Superstar shines

Natalie Madrigal is a senior at Washington Union High School and ranked No. 1 in her class. Through her involvement in the school’s Patient Care Pathway, she has nurtured her appetite for learning, leadership and heart for service. She volunteers at Community Medical Center. This school year she has accumulated more than 250 volunteer hours. She also completed a sports medicine internship with the school’s athletic trainer and received the prestigious UCSF Fresno Biomedical Internship during the summer.

Natalie is hardworking, motivated and dependable. She received first place two years in a row in a medical terminology competition at the Fresno County Career Skills Challenge. She is the current HOSA Future Health Professional chapter vice president and served as the co-president during her junior year. She helped plan a NAMI walk/run for her school that raised money for Fresno’s Alliance on Mental Illness. She is currently working on a campaign to raise funds for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. She plans to pursue a career in medicine.
