4th Annual Gold Buying Event Benefits Valley Schools
The Foundation @ FCOE is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Gold Buying Event to benefit local schools held by the Fresno Coin Gallery yielded a generous $72,108 for local schools. A check presentation was held at the Fresno County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 14th. Supervisor Borgeas introduced the agenda item and proclaimed May 2013 as Fresno Coin Gallery Month.
Over the past four years, Fresno Coin Gallery’s gold buying events have yielded donations totaling approximately $300,000. Funds have been used to support numerous academic competitions, expand arts education offerings, support student physical wellness, help fund Future Farmers of America programs, and more. Events funded by the donation include the Fresno County and California State Academic Decathlon, FCOE Science, Mathematics and Engineering Fair, FCOE Youth Choir, FCOE Theatre Project, Mock Trial, CIF Section Finals, and athletic grants.
The Fresno Coin Gallery opened in 1982 as a small mom and pop business in a tiny building on Blackstone Avenue in Fresno. Today, they have four locations in two counties. Today, the second generation of the Foster Family carries on the family tradition of business integrity and community support.
