Congratulations to the 2020 Innovation Grant Award winners

The Foundation @ FCOE hosted a virtual celebration in honor of the 2020 Innovation Grants Award winners on Nov. 4. Each winner received a $1,000 grant to fund innovation in Fresno County school districts. The awardees represented small to large schools at grade levels from kindergarten to high school, including special education and dual-enrollment college students.

The Foundation @ FCOE was established with the belief that education is preparation for life and that excellence, access and innovation can change the trajectory of the lives of students. The goal of the Innovation Grants is to spark the imagination of students and provide inspiration for them by funding classroom projects. In the words of spoken word poet Ms. Ariel Parker, who performed at the reception, “Thank you to all the teachers who battle daily for the life of a student.”

The grants are made possible by donations from employees of the Office of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools, primarily through monthly payroll deductions. The FCSS family is honored to make an impact on the future of local students. For more information, and to read Ms. Parker’s poem, "You Saw Me," please
