FCOE All Staff Day celebrates 'Back to School'

The Fresno County Office of Education’s All Staff Day was held on Friday, Aug. 22 at the Clovis North High School gym. This year’s theme was “Back to School.” The crowd enjoyed a high-energy kick-off to the new school year with fun, school-spirit, cheers, pompoms and comradery, as well as FCOE’s first annual basketball hoops contest. This year’s contest winner was Josh Blecha, Safe and Healthy Kids department.

Bob Barber, Liberty High School softball coach, was the keynote speaker for the event. Coach Barber has become a teacher of the “Power of Positive” principles, which have helped his softball teams to win 70% of all games over nine years and 85% of all playoff games, including five League Championships and five Central Section Valley Championships.

The 2014 Employees of the Month and the 2014 Pillar Award recipients were recognized, as well as two honorees for 25 years of dedicated service. The 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Armen Bacon and the 2014 Above-and-Beyond Award was presented to Bob Bullwinkel.
