Integrated Pest Management

Annual Pesticide Notice

Pest can pose significant problems to people, property, and the environment.  Pesticides pose similar risks.  Children spend a great deal of time in schools and face greater potential for health effects resulting from pest and pesticide exposure. By reducing reliance on pesticides and incorporating low-risk control options, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) reduces both pest and pesticide risks.  It is therefore the policy of the Fresno County Office of Education to incorporate IPM procedures for controlling pests. Click here to review the IPM Policy & Procedures.

The Health Schools Act of 2000 requires all California school districts to notify parents and guardians of pesticides they anticipate applying during the school year. The following pesticides may be applied at our sites:

There will be no pesticide applications during regular school hours, unless the presence of that pest is deemed more dangerous than the treatment.
