FRESNO REGIONAL OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAM

One of 73 ROPs throughout the state, this program provides career preparation programs and services to high school and adult students, facilitating preparation for advanced education, preparation for employment, or upgrade of existing employment skills.

This department of the Fresno County Office of Education serves 22 school districts throughout Fresno, Madera, and Mariposa counties. Over 135 career-preparation classes are offered for youth 16 years of age through adults. Many Fresno ROP courses qualify for college credit through articulation agreements with Fresno City College, Kings River Community College, West Hills Community College, and California State University, Fresno.

Fresno ROP is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

CalWORKs Education Services

Previously know as GAIN, CalWORKs provides management functions and services between the Fresno County Dept. of Social Services and district adult education programs. These functions consist of adult CalWORKs student attendance accounting and record-keeping, contracts with agencies and districts, and funding of student training programs through JTPA and State matching funds.
